A View From Under the Sea

Day 15 - Today was officially a "free" day for us, but Scott took full advantage by booking a scuba diving trip off the Amalfi Coast!

Having just been certified recently in Puerto Penasco, he was anxious to add the Mediterranean Sea as his next diving experience!

These two dives were Scott's deepest yet, at 85' and 100' deep! In one area, there were archeological remains in the ocean floor (think Pompeii, but underwater...of course not as extensive as Pompeii!).

A nasty weather system resulted in very rough seas for the ride back into the port, but that didn't dampen the incredible experience for Scott!

Gayle had a much less exciting day, but really enjoyed sleeping in, then mastering the local laundromat and getting all our clothes washed! We've been doing laundry in the sink so far, so it was nice to get everything extra clean before our last week of the trip!

Dan and Lori found a pharmacy with a doctor present, who was able to prescribe an antibiotic for Lori's eye (she developed some sort of infection over the past couple of days). Within hours of her first treatment, she had noticeable improvement!

After laundry and pharmacy stops, Lori and I did a little shopping! It was, after all, a "free" day!!

We've had great lunches and dinners here in Sorrento, and are enjoying some new seafood options now that we are on the coast. Scott and Dan had steak tonight, which was really delicious, but oddly garnished with popcorn!!

Before dinner, we enjoyed another evening stroll down to the cliffs overlooking the Sea. It was a beautiful night!
