Riding the Rails

Day 3, and we are riding the train from Paris to Caen. From there, we’ll have a rental car (Scott will be our DD!) and drive through the Normandy countryside to our AirBNB for the next three nights.

After some initial complications getting through the gate for our departure (thank goodness for a kind stranger who “smuggled” us through the non-functioning turnstile), we made it aboard! Normandy, here we come!!

That was BEFORE we got off at the wrong train stop! Once we figured it out, we bought tix on the next train to Caen…which was 3 hours later! Ooops! Good thing we didn’t have a set agenda today!

The silver lining…when stuck in Evreux for a 3 hour layover…check Google to see what is nearby! This amazing church was a 10 minute walk from the train station!!
